Welcome to the 47th edition of Translator Tools Newsletter. In this newsletter, I would like to announce recent updates to TransTools+, TransTools and Term Morphology Editor.
TransTools+: new features in version 2.4 and updates for version 1 users
The new TransTools+ v.2.4 includes a number of fixes, improves usability, and provides UI improvements. Here is a list of the most important updates:
- Important: This version fixes a critical issue which can prevent some panel-based tools like Multiple Find & Replace from operating in the latest version of Office 365. This issue is caused by Office Version 2406 June 18 update (Build 17726.20090).
- A new useful feature in Multiple Find & Replace, Hide/Unhide Text and Highlighting Tool: you can now edit many search expressions at once by selecting multiple items and clicking the Batch-edit Parameters button. This way you can modify such settings as Type (text/regular expression), Match Case, Use Wildcards, Find Whole Words Only, Find Formatting, Replacement Formatting and Replacement Highlight Color for many search expressions without having to edit them separately.
- Several UI improvements in Multiple Find & Replace, Highlighting Tool and Hide/Unhide Text tools.
- An important update in Author Anonymizer tool: When a document being processed is located inside the OneDrive folder, a warning is now displayed, telling the user that the document needs to be copied to a different location before processing. This affects users of Office 365 since the location of files residing inside the OneDrive folder starts with "https://d.docs.live.net/" and such locations cannot be used to copy files on Windows, making it impossible to process these files with Author Anonymizer. If you see this warning, follow the instructions to copy the affected files to a different location and re-select them from this location before repeating the operation.
- Bug fixes in Hide/Unhide Text and DTP Tools.
- Other fixes and improvements.
Some of these updates, including the critical fix at the top of the above list, have also been added to TransTools+ version 1 (in v.1.12) for the benefit of users who have not upgraded to TransTools+ v.2. If you are using version 1 of TransTools+, please update it to v.1.12 to avoid issues in Office 365 as explained above.
For the detailed list of updates, consult TransTools+ version history page.

Term Morphology Editor v.2: OpenAI integration, UI improvements, support for latest updates in Phrase TMS
Term Morphology Editor helps terminologists, freelance translators and project managers improve term recognition and terminology QA in memoQ and Phrase TMS projects quickly and easily. The app uses special morphology engines and a visual morphology editor in order to tell memoQ and Phrase TMS how a particular term is inflected, thus helping them detect all possible term inflections (forms). With Term Morphology Editor, you can save up to 90-95% of the time required for manual editing of term bases to improve term recognition performance.
Recently, version 2 of Term Morphology Editor has been released, with the following new features:
- Support for OpenAI morphology suggestions in all languages supported by the application. OpenAI models work quite well with all the languages supported by Term Morphology Editor, so you can use it if the Hunspell morphology engine does not support a given language, or to improve the results.
- Support for all recent changes in the Excel export format for Phrase TMS termbases.
- Kazakh language support from Morpher morphology engine.
- Various UI improvements such as high DPI support, remembering the main window size, ability to size panels in the main window, and ability to resize some windows.
